Reefer Containers

Description updated soon

Reefer containers, short for refrigerated containers, are specialized shipping containers designed to transport temperature-sensitive goods, ensuring they remain fresh during transit. They utilize a refrigeration unit, insulation, and airflow systems to maintain a consistent temperature, making them ideal for products like food, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals.

Key Features and Components:
  • Refrigeration Unit:

This unit, powered by electricity (typically 380-460V, 3-phase), circulates coolant through pipes within the container walls to cool or heat the air inside.

  • Insulation:

Thick insulation helps to minimize heat transfer between the interior and exterior of the container, maintaining a stable temperature.

  • Airflow System:

An effective airflow system ensures that cool air reaches all parts of the container, preventing temperature variations and maintaining product quality.

  • Temperature Monitoring and Control:

Reefer containers have sophisticated monitoring and control panels to track temperature and humidity levels, allowing for adjustments as needed.

  • Humidity Control:

Some models also offer humidity control features to prevent spoilage and maintain the freshness of certain products.

Common Sizes and Types:
  • 20ft and 40ft: These are the most common sizes for reefer containers.
  • 40ft High Cube (HC): Offers extra height for taller cargo.
  • Modified Atmosphere (MA/CA) Containers: These containers have enhanced insulation and specialized air exchange controllers for even more precise temperature and humidity control.
    Benefits of Using Reefer Containers:
  • Preservation of Perishable Goods:

Reefer containers play a vital role in preserving the quality and safety of temperature-sensitive goods during transit.

  • Global Trade:

They are essential for international trade, facilitating the movement of goods across long distances while maintaining their integrity.

  • Versatility:
Reefer containers can handle a wide range of products, from fresh produce and frozen foods to pharmaceuticals and even certain chemicals.
